An Update--Almost There!!

Hi everyone, we just received an email from our agency and we are getting very close to finishing the dossier.  They just informed us it has made it through critical review and they'd just received the last piece, the I-797, back from authentication I guess.  She said it is being translated and in just a FEW DAYS it will be officially sent to China.  As soon as I get that notice, I'll let you know!

In the meantime, we continue to fund-raise.  The t-shirt fund-raiser is ongoing and if you'd like one of those, please email Lindsay at lindsayadams12@me.com..  We'll also be doing an online raffle too very soon so be on the look out for that.  We are currently gathering donations for this, so if you have something you'd like to donate, please do not hesitate to email Lindsay with that item.

We are anxiously also awaiting news on some of the grants we applied for.   A couple of them we have already heard from this month.  One felt we hadn't yet raised enough funds yet and denied our application, BUT graciously put it back in for another review in April!!  The other organization didn't give a reason, BUT has also agreed to review it again next month.  We suspect it is for the same reason.  We have a $2,700 pledge and have been told it has been mailed. As soon as we receive word that it has arrived (which should be any day now), we will update the thermometer.  That will put us to the 50% mark that the first grant organization wanted to see.  I know they are trying to be good stewards of their money, like all of us are required to do.  I just imagine that they are concerned if we don't have that amount to start with, perhaps we cannot complete the adoption due to lack of finances.  Perhaps they've seen it before, I don't know, but I certainly can understand that.  Also, at that time of review, we hadn't yet had dossier to China yet, so that could be a reason why some are yet holding off.  THAT, however, is about to be remedied in the next few days!!! We are sooo pleased and blessed that they have agreed to review it again!

Please keep our situation lifted up as we continue this adoption journey!  We have ABSOLUTE faith that what He has begun in us, He will bring it to completion!!  Though we have no idea how, HE DOES and that is good enough for us!!  Bless you all for your part in seeing us through this amazing journey to get our new daughter!

  1. I just cannot wait for you to sky rocket forward through the hurdles and red tape and miles of paperwork! Not to mention when you get to officially show us photos and details. You folks are the most patient people out there I think. Looking forward to the auction! I think God's choice here is to involve as many people as possible so hopefully the auction will get TONS of coverage! Let me know if you need a sidebar button!

  2. Thanks Valerie! You have been such a blessing to our family through this whole process. Lindsay has also been a blessing too after she came on board. The two of you have helped us tremendously and He has used you both mightily to bring this adoption to where it is today! We couldn't be more blessed than to have sooo many people who've played an important part in this. Thank you all!!!

We also cannot wait to show the photos of our new daughter, however, until we get the okay from our agency, it'll just have to be a mystery:0
